Superficial

A friend of mine asked me if it is good to be superficial. Most of us have been told our entire lives that superficiality is the sign of a shallow person. But we all have a "type" or a preference in reference to who or what we're attractive to. But those superficial qualities don't last forever. What will sustain your relationship in the long run?
